Reclaim Programme
Kent
Launching in Summer 2025, Reclaim The Sea is excited to introduce our pilot programme in Kent, continuing our mission to provide people with tools to reconnect with the ocean.
In partnership with Kent Refugee Action Network (KRAN), we are developing a programme that promises to create safe, empowering opportunities for young women to connect with the water and build community.
While specific details are still taking shape, the programme will focus on introducing participants to swimming and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), creating a supportive environment for healing, confidence-building, and personal growth.
Led by Alice, this pilot programme will build upon the successful models developed in Plymouth and North Somerset. We are working closely with KRAN to ensure the programme meets the unique needs of young refugee and asylum-seeking women in the Kent area. Our approach will continue to emphasise trauma-informed instruction, community building, and providing a safe space for participants to explore their relationship with water.
