What we do
Campaign
Alongside working with those who have experienced dangerous crossings, we use our voices to work towards ensuring safe passage, freedom of movement and the right to refuge.
The sea does not discriminate between different people based on their migration or documentation status, the colour of their skin, or the language they speak. However, different people have starkly contrasting experiences of the sea - due to hostile, discriminatory politics.
Anti-migrant politics and rhetoric have led to increasing numbers of people experiencing dangerous, traumatising journeys at sea. Our seas have become contested border zones, sites of loss and fear for people forced to cross them to seek safety.
Alongside working to provide tools to those who have experienced dangerous sea crossings, we also campaign for safe migration routes, the freedom of movement and the right to seek refuge safely. Our vision is of a world in which no one dies at sea borders or any other borders; a world in which the right to seek asylum and the right to move safely are protected. Using our political voice, we also support other human rights and justice campaigns such as ending the genocide in Gaza, as we have a duty as global civil society to stand against injustice.
